capacity. We can not take in any more animals. There is no more space or
finances. We first must get our shelter building up and running, and get
more regular volunteers. If you are looking to find a home for your pet,

As of January 1, 2007, My
Cat Ranch merged with
Acadiana Humane
Society making us an official 501c3 non-profit organization. This
allows us to work together to save more homeless animals. Our current
goal is to raise funds to complete our official hurricane safe cat
shelter, to house our rescue cats and kittens. As well as to serve as an
evacuation shelter for our cats that are currently in foster homes below
I-10. Thanks to a generous donor, the foundation is complete, and the
steel building kit is being installed by volunteers. We still need to
raise funds for the interior walls, windows, air conditioner/heater,
generators, etc. Volunteers are also needed for the construction work.

Please be aware that there are too many animals, and not
enough available homes to take them in. Why are there more animals then homes?
Because too many pet owners do not spay and neuter their pets. Please spay and
neuter your pets to help reduce the amount of unwanted pets.
We do not kill for space, therefore we have very limited room for taking
in surrendered and rescued animals. Right now it is kitten season, and we are
full to overflowing. We have no more room, and no finances, for any more owner
surrendered animals at this time. Thank you for your understanding.
